Young Tigers roar to put four past Withdean

By Thomas Nicholls

Saltdean United U'14s 4-1 Withdean U'14's

Chris Walker's Under 14's put in yet another solid performance as they beat a determined Withdean 4-1 on Sunday.

The inform u14's went 2-0 up very quickly with two equally great finishes from Herbie Rogers and Alfie Norman.

However, after a complacent spell for the home side, they took their foot off the gas for 15 and had their lead halved as a consequence.

HT: 2-1

Walker's boys regrouped at the interval began to find their rhythm once more and they put in a second-half performance to remember.

In arguably his best performance in a Saltdean shirt, Kevin Moses fired in a goal of the season contender from outside the box to put some daylight between the sides.

Saltdean secured the win shortly after when Josh Sprigg added a fourth. Sprigg latched onto some breathtaking one-touch interplay and coolly slotted past the Withdean keeper.

Man of the match was Liam York with another great performance at right back. Liam was solid in defence and was unlucky not to add an assist as he continued to deliver some quality crosses into the box, narrowly evading the oncoming strikeforce.

Another very satisfying home win for the Tigers, who have now moved into to 1st with 6 games left to play.
