Crawley class ends Saltdean dream
Crawley Town 6-0 Saltdean United
League 2's Crawley Town advanced to the Sussex Senior Cup Final last night with an emphatic display against Freeman's Saltdean United.
Harry Kewell fielded an 11 with a wealth of Football League experience and their class told as they ran out 6-0 winners on Tuesday night.
Saltdean had the best of the opening stages and could've possibly taken the lead when Rob'O Toole went through on goal, his effort narrowly going over the bar.
However, The Reds took advantage and began to find their rhythm, taking the lead through skipper Jimmy Smith who buried a low finish past Banks in the Saltdean goal.
Just minutes later, Crawley doubled their lead when a break down the left hand side and a pass from Sanoh which found former Arsenal man Mark Randall who cooly converted.
Harry Kewell made three substitutes early in the second half and one of those men was Camara , who wasted no time in making his impact as he rifled home a third.
Two more goals from Jimmy Smith and another from Camara completed the scoring before Saltdean's Craig Hall was dismissed for a foul on Camara.
A fantastic cup run has come to an end and despite the scoreline, it was an event that will live long in the memory for Freeman's troops.
