We are delighted to announce the signing of Tammy Waine who joins the club with a wealth of experience! Tammy has played at the highest level, most notably with Brighton, Lewes and Fulham. Her successful career spans across a 25 year period and her experience will be invaluable with the Tigers!
On signing for Saltdean United Women FC, Tammy said, “I have been contemplating retirement which I know has been an ongoing joke for many years, I think I have been saying one more season for the last 12 years! Joe was quite persistent in me coming along to a training session, so I thought I would give it a go to see if I had something to offer and if the passion was still there. I really enjoyed the environment at the club and potentially this will be my last season so this was a very important factor to me. I am very much looking forward to the season!”
Tammy made her debut for the Tigers in Sunday’s pre season friendly against Lewes Women DS scoring a header from a corner. On her signing, Women’s manager Joe Mctiffen said, “I am so pleased to get this one over the line. Tammy’s experience and quality adds so much to our squad and her hunger is evident in every training session. She is a leader who players look up to and her attributes will be vital for us on and off the pitch. Tammy has settled in to the squad from the start of pre season and I am looking forward to having her – maybe for just one more year!”
We wish Tammy all the best in the upcoming season and cannot wait to see her down Hill Park.
