On Wednesday, 18th August Saltdean United hosted a coaches development workshop at Hill Park in collaboration with Sussex County FA and the Coaching Advisory Network (e-CAN https://e-can.co.uk)

The workshop was delivered as a combination of discussion and practical delivery around the importance of developing young players’ Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), with and without the ball. Coaches were shown a number of child friendly games and practices that help to improve children’s Agility, Balance, Co-ordination & Speed (ABCs), as well as their Footballing Skills.

The discussions were very informative, lively and engaging and the practical work on the Hill Park pitch generated smiles and laughter, although possibly some sore muscles the following morning! You may just be able to pick out coaches from Saltdean United U8s in the photos.

Giving coaches the opportunity to take part and experience the practical side of what their players would.
