We were delighted to finally have our young players back on the pitch yesterday after a long break. A lovely sunny day  with plenty of home and away fixtures as our Youth Teams began their 2021/22 league campaigns. Here’s how they got on…

Under 7’s – A fantastic start for the Under 7’s as they hosted Mile Oak in their first ever league fixture. A confident and determined team of boys and girls that were clearly loving their football! A great atmosphere and lots of support from both the home and away team parents.

Under 8’s – The Under 8’s played Peacehaven , always a difficult match with both teams determined to win. We played very well considering new players have come in and changed the dynamic. A very close game marginally losing but looking positive for the rest of the season.

Under 9’s – The U9’s had a tough first game back against Peacehaven. Some good individual performances and really looking forward to the season ahead!

Under 12’s – A hard fought but well deserved 2-1 victory against a determined Eastbourne Town. Great to be back!

Under 13’s – The opening game of the season was away at Withdean. With nine new players making their debut for the Tigers there were some good individual performances and occasional flurries of promising combination play. Whilst the game ended in defeat for the Tigers, the score line doesn’t tell the whole story. Looking forward to a season of discovery for this exciting, newly formed group.

Under 14’s – A resilient U14’s came from back from one nil down at half time to beat Little Common away 3:2. The team got stronger as the game went on and held off a barrage of corners to grab the 3 points!

Under 16’s – The U16’s first fixture away to Cuckfield resulted in a very close 1-0 defeat, a goal rule marginally offside would have put us in the lead, but an unfortunate early sending off and resulting goal had us on the back foot chasing the game, we dominated possession in the 2nd half and hit the post but couldn’t find the equaliser.
