Women’s DS Manager Jacob Magnus will leave the Tigers at the end of the season after being in charge for the past two years.
Unfortunately, due to family commitments and a new job with longer hours, Jacob couldn’t commit the time that he wanted. Having been in place since the women’s development squad was created, he has taken the team from strength to strength and installed a fantastic side who are always credited for their playing style by the opposition.
With the average age of the team around 18 years of age, Jacob’s aim was to support the first team with pushing his development squad in to the senior picture. This was achieved in both seasons after a number of players made their debut, with two now being regulars after impressing for the first team. Jacob also produced some fantastic wins including a 9-2 win against Worthing Town and a 7-3 victory away to Roffey this season.
DS captain Chloe Cressey said “Jacob has been with us for two seasons and he has show passion, commitment and professionalism towards the squad. He has been an incredible manager and will be missed massively by all of the girls. We would like to say a massive thank you and good luck.”
First team manager Joe McTiffen added, “i’d like to start by thanking Jacob for all of his hard work over the past two years. When the club decided to add a development side, I was straight on the phone to Jacob. A fantastic coach who had the same ideas to me when discussing the progression of the women’s section at Saltdean. He has turned a new, young and inexperienced side to a team who have competed against all of the top teams in the league. Jacob will be a massive miss to the club but we wish him well in his new job!”
The club will be looking for a new development manager to be in place ready for pre season in July. An official advert will be released in the near future but if you are interested and would like to show your initial interest, please email email@example.com
