The club are delighted to announce that Kieran Ridley has been appointed men’s first team manager with immediate affect.

After a number of strong candidates were interviewed for the position, the club felt Kieran matched the clubs ambition of building now but also for the future. Kieran leaves Newhaven after more than 10 years where he has worked with the first team, U23s and U18s. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge that will support the club and push it forward for years to come.

Our thanks must go to Bradley Sweetman and Joe Mctiffen for their efforts last season. We wish Brad all the best in whatever he decides to do and look forward to having Joe Mctiffen as our Director of Football.

Kieran will begin work immediately and will look to plan an intense pre season which is just around the corner.

On his appointment Kieran said, ” I’m really looking forward to the challenge of managing Saltdean. There have been some solid foundations laid firstly by Brad and then by Tiff, so it’ll be my job to build on that on the pitch to match the work taking place at the club off of it. The group that ended the season are a talented group and if we can retain the majority of them, it’ll give us a fantastic base from which to start.

This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I’m grateful to everyone at the club for the faith they’ve put in me and the warm welcome from everyone I’ve met.”

Joe Mctiffen, Director of Football added, “I am really pleased that Kieran showed an interest in taking the men’s role. He is a fantastic coach and well known across the county. Kieran is someone that has worked brilliantly with Newhaven FC, creating a youth pathway that has become so successful with their front side. A lot of players like working with him and it is someone we know can really take the club to the next level.

We had some fantastic candidates but as a club we felt Kieran matched our ambition. With the new ground just around the corner, we wanted to get someone in long term that would support the club both on and off the pitch.”

Welcome to the club Kieran!
