When Saltdean United took on Midhurst and Easebourne to end the 2023-24 season, the game had significance for one person in particular.

A huge congratulations goes to Alfie Edmeads who made his 100th appearance in a Saltdean United shirt for the first team. This is a particularly special achievement for Alfie, just 20 years old, having come through the club’s youth system all the way from the Under 7s.

After the match at Midhurst, chairman Bob Thomas presented Alfie with a momento to recognise the achievement, his teammates signed the match shirt and manager Kieran Ridley presented Alfie with a home shirt with Edmeads 100 on the back. Ridley was full of praise for his player after the game.

“Alfie has shown unbelievable loyalty to the club, to make 100 appearances at his age says everything, but to have done it whilst staying through some tough times shows the kind of guy that he is. I’m so chuffed he found some incredible form at the end of the season and played such a significant part in keeping the club up as I know how much it meant to him”.

From all at Saltdean United, congratulations Alfie on your milestone.
