Macca and Green Commit to Saltdean United Women’s First Team for 25/26 Season
Saltdean United Women are delighted to announce that Katie McIntyre and Amy Green have officially committed to managing the first team for the 2025/26 season, following a fantastic spell as interim managers.
Macca and Green stepped into the role in February after the departure of former manager Zak Dove. Since taking charge, the duo have overseen some real tough fixtures winning seven, drawing two and losing three, culminating in Saltdean achieving their highest-ever points tally and best league position in club history — a fitting end to another historic season for the Tigers.
Their leadership injected renewed energy into the squad, whilst adding a few key additions to support the progression.
Women’s Director of Football, Joe McTiffen praised the new management team, saying, “Macca and Amy have been exceptional since stepping in earlier this year. Their passion for the club, their vision for the future, and their ability to get the best out of the players made this decision an easy one. We are excited to see what they can achieve with a full season ahead of them in our new facilities.”
On committing to the Tigers, Macca said, ”I’m really happy to continue with Saltdean for the 25/26 season. After finishing in a strong position this year and with our new facilities and 3G being built, this is an exciting time to be at the club. We have a very talented squad who are just improving every week, so I am excited to start from the beginning to see what we can achieve. I know what a challenge this will be but I’m excited to see what we can do!”
Green added, “I’m proud to be part of the women’s set up, there is a real sense of excitement surrounding the club with the new facilities and the talented squad we are building. Finishing in such a strong position this season is testament to the girls and I am excited to push on even further next season.”
As preparations begin for the 25/26 campaign, there is a real sense of momentum at Saltdean. The brand new stadium is months away from finishing with the 3G pitch being installed in a matter of weeks. Our final league game this Sunday will see the curtain fall on another season, with third position confirmed. Planning for next season has already begun and it is sure to be an exciting one!
