With the sun shining on Hill Park we have seen some great progress with the build this week.

Our pitch contractors Hunts arrived on site on Monday and have set to work levelling the pitch ready to start installing the various layers that make up the 3G pitch. In just a week we can see huge progress and it has been met with great enthusiasm from everyone at the club as we edge closer to the finish line.
The aim with this project has always been to provide all of our senior and youth teams with first class facilities. Now that the pitch works are underway we have started discussing training sessions for all twenty of our teams for next season, including Walking Football and Tiger Cubs. Everyone that plays at Saltdean United will get to enjoy these new facilities.
Elsewhere in the grounds, the retaining walls on the west bank are being installed by our groundworkers Obsidian, and a bespoke 200 seat covered spectator stand is in the process of being manufactured by Stadia Construction. This will sit on the existing concrete slab giving fantastic elevated views of the pitch.

There have also been some developments with the clubhouse this week as steels arrived on site. On Friday the crane arrived and the erection of the first floor of the clubhouse began. In just one day we can see the first floor taking shape and can begin to get.a feel for the scale of the new clubhouse.

Whilst all this is going on outside, we have been able to make some good progress on the inside of the ground floor of the building. Plumbing contractors, and club sponsor, Mittens have been busy installing the pipe work and the racking is in place ready for the ventilation system to be installed.
All in all a very busy few weeks on site and lots of progress to show for it. Behind the scenes our volunteer committee members continue to dedicate their time to the Legacy project and we can’t thank them enough for all their hard work. Now that we can see the end in sight, we know they are looking forward to their first cold beer on the new clubhouse balcony overlooking the pitch!
