Our pitch contractor Hunts are making great progress with the 3G pitch. The curb stones have been installed to delineate the pitch perimeter so we are really starting to get a sense of the space.

The new 200 seat (well 209 to be precise) spectator stand has been installed by Stadia Construction Ltd who have done a fantastic job, from design to delivery. We are grateful to the Premier League Stadium Fund for a grant that has made this upgrade possible.

Retaining walls are being completed along with new steps to the stand. The hard landscaping of paths and the concourse will begin soon along with perimeter fencing.

The clubhouse is making steady progress, with the ventilation system and first fix plumbing & electrics on the ground floor. The last of the steels have arrived and are close to being completed so the roof and cladding can begin.

The first floor is taking shape and with the steels in place we can see the layout of the clubhouse, bar, committee room and a balcony that will boast the best views in Sussex, overlooking the pitch and the glorious South Downs National Park.

The Legacy volunteers can start to get excited now as we are talking about taps and tiles, furniture and fixings. It’s been a long time and a labour of love but we can’t wait to open the new facility and share it with the community.

Meanwhile we will begin the season with our home games at Newhaven FC, with thanks to them for the support as we edge closer to the finish line at Hill Park.
