Saltdean United FC Appoints Lawrence Edwards as First Team Men’s Manager
Saltdean United FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Lawrence “Lol” Edwards as our new First Team Men’s Manager.
Following an extensive recruitment process, we received a high volume of applications from a number of strong and experienced candidates. However, Lol stood out as the individual who most closely aligned with our club’s ethos, development pathway, and core values. His vision for the team and commitment to nurturing talent perfectly reflects the direction we are heading as a club.
Lol brings with him a proven track record of success in the county league, having built young, dynamic squads that were both exciting to watch and notoriously difficult to beat. His ability to develop players and foster a winning mentality has earned him widespread respect across Sussex football.
This appointment also marks a homecoming of sorts—Lol is no stranger to Saltdean United, having proudly worn the shirt during his playing days. His deep understanding of the club’s culture and community spirit makes this a particularly special moment for everyone involved.
Lol Edwards shared his excitement about the appointment:
“I have a long history with Saltdean, having played here on four different occasions, so I am delighted to be back at the club. After seeing the amazing facilities that are being built, I wanted to be part of their progress and help get them back to where they belong. There have been some strong foundations already created, and I am here to continue building on those.”
We look forward to the next chapter under Lol’s leadership and are excited about what the future holds for our First Team.
Welcome back, Lol!
