Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Alan Pockney who passed away peacefully this week after a short illness.
Alan was synonymous with Saltdean United back in the 80’s and 90’s having managed one of the original Saltdean Tigers youth teams. Many of those players still live locally and some of their children have even pulled on a Saltdean Tigers shirt! His energy, enthusiasm and love of the game shone through, the many youth teams today from U7’s through to U18’s exist in part because of Alans contribution.
The supporters, Officials, Players (past and present) and volunteers at Saltdean United Football Club would like to pass on our deepest sympathy.
We would like you to join us in a minutes applause before kick off this Saturday at Hill Park to celebrate Alan’s life.
Alan Pockney, he was one of our own.
Alan’s family are helping to raise money for a local charity, The Martletts.
To support the family in their fundraising and pay tribute to Alan, the club will donate half of the gate revenue this Saturday to The Martletts charity. We will also have a collection bucket at the game should anyone wish to donate extra, or you can make an online donation in Alans memory via the link below. All donations however small will make a big difference.
