Women’s

Saltdean United Women FC were formed in 2017 when they began their journey at step 7 of the women’s football pyramid. Playing at Hill Park, home ground of Saltdean United FC, the women set their intentions from the off by finishing runners up of both the league and league cup in their first season as a side. Due to the successful results and league position, Saltdean United Women were promoted in 2018 to the South East Counties Premier Division.

The challenge was increased but the progression didn’t stop as the Tigers had another fantastic season. Finishing runners up for the second time in as many years meant that they were rewarded with promotion in to the London and South East Premier. In the same year the women collected their first piece of silverware after beating Ashford in the South East Counties League Cup. Saltdean now play in tier 5 of the Women’s pyramid with their key target being reaching the National League.

In the 2023/24 season, they made history by winning the Sussex FA’s Challenge Cup, beating Newhaven 3-0 at Culver Road. This was added to a very successful season, finishing top five in the league with the most ever points gained, alongside a fantastic FA cup run which saw them reach the first round proper, only to be beaten by National League opposition, AFC Wimbledon on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
